A comment on Nail Salon Infections - Hidden Dangers

I recently visited several nail salons in Daytona Beach Florida and found them to be unsanitary not using correct supplies in doing any of there nails...I have had a license in the state of Massachusetts and find the laws there are much stricter than they are here.....there were laws on using a drimel (not on natural nails) a law on only using nail products all products were to be in view of the customer (which they are NOT in this state), we were taught in Ma. that when nails were removed they were to be soaked off not torn off as they do here, time for the state of florida to inspect all nail salons and either correct the problem or shut them down...I have had the worst experience in this state by far.........thank you....hope this helps the cause for fighting infections and fungus break-outs.........

A comment on Knee Injuries Are Common in PI Practice

I just had reconstruction ACL surgery. it happened due to a faulty mat sticking up and my foot got caught inside and twisted my knee. I presently have a lawsuit against the hotel where it happened. Do you feel that the hotel will settle out of court? For compensation, is there a standard Number($)that the courts have for a ACL case?

A comment on Old Surgeons Not a Problem

This is not surprising to me. The less experienced cardio-thoracic surgeons work in charity and teaching hospitals where you find doctors in training. What does surprise me is that so many patients blithely accept the CABG as the first resort in treating CAD. It is the most overprescribed cardiac procedure and fully half the patients that receive them do not need them. Almost three years ago, I was told I neecded an immediate quintuple bypass or would face heart attack stroke or death within three months. Thirty six months later, I am still here after getting a second opinion.

A comment on Breast Cancer Mis-Diagnosis and Late Diagnosis

It is said that mammography is still the best tool for diagnosing breast cancer in MOST women. However, most women leaves a far distance from all women. Example: Dense breast tissue, frequently does not show up on mammography but often nothing else is done. How elementary is it to know that breast density seen on a mammogram could be hiding a tumor but doing nothing further to be certain? Physicians always say it is too expensive to do more tests in case they are negative but what about the one that may be positive? At least let the woman decide if she wants to pay for further testing herself. It could certainly make a huge difference in her life. Wouldn't you want your wife to be given that option???
